Death Valley is a vast national park, almost in between California and Nevada. Bad Water is the lowest point at 282 feet below sea level. Temperature there is often above 100 degrees F. This is the hottest place in the western hemisphere.
The vast expansive lake is difficult to represent in a photograph. I selected a simple way: vertical composition, with a prominent foregroud, a leading middle-ground, and an attractive light and shadow play in the foreground.
