Zion National Park, in Utah, is well known for its steep white and red rock canyon walls, surrounding the area in a majestic protective setup.
I took this photograph from a small wooden bridge crossing the river, where I had a good view of the reflected walls on the river. The warm colors of the late afternoon lit walls reflected nicely on the water, contrasting with the cold blue color of the sky.
The challenge was the wooden bridge. I set-up the tripod, and I noticed that the bridge keeps wobbling as I was moving around. I had then to stay still for about 10 minutes, not moving an inch, with the remote release cable in my hand, waiting for the wobbling and vibrations to stop, before snapping the picture. Thinking about it, I would have been a more interesting subject that the surrounding landscape: imagine a photographer on his knees, not moving a single eyelash, for 10 minutes, breathing very slowly. That could have made a funny snapshot.
