Oxbow Band, Wyoming, Grand Teton NP

At Oxbow Bend, the slow curves of the river has created peaceful small lakes, that are mirror like in the early hours of mornings. I drove early that day from Jackson hole, arrived there about one hour prior to Sunrise, and start composing and taking pictures of the varying light reflecting on the Grand Tetons.

This is my favorite show. The different hues of blue and pink are very pleasing; they are soft and intense at the same time. The dead tree in the water in the foreground breaks the symmetry of the image, and provide a strong point in the composition. The tree also provides a frame, maintaining our vision trapped in between this tree and the reflections of the Grand Tetons on the lake.

Technique:
Canon EOS 1Dmk2, Canon 24-70mm at 43mm, 1/10s at f/22, exposure compensation -1/3, ISO 100
