The sand dunes in Death Valley, California, creates interesting patterns early morning. Shaped by the evening breeze, all footsteps and other traces are erased, and repalced by beautiful geometric patterns.
To photograph the dunes, the best time is early morning. The low position of the sun creates interesting shadow plays. The morning session ensures arrival before footsteps are created.
A wide angle lens, tilted slightly down, with a vertical composition, allows for a larger than life foreground, and converging lines in the infinity.
